“Wearing a small taste of history with me throughout the day, even if it is with my favorite pair of comfy jeans, makes my soul sing!” —Dosha Klein
Rabbitwood and Reason proprietor Dosha Klein specializes in jewelry design that “walks the line between worlds—jewelry that is designed to be worn with modern attire, yet also reflects the romantic spirit of ages past.” Dosha says that remnants of her own personal travels around the world and her love of history inspire her work.
INSIDE OUR AGE OF INNOCENCE GILDED YEARS THEME BOX…
Dosha designed these teardrop gilded earrings especially for Bel Istoria’s Age of Innocence theme box. Layers of antiqued golden brass and delicate filigree adorn Swarovski Crystal beads in rich, faceted garnet.
With the return of upswept hairstyles in the 1860s, pendant earrings were in fashion. Near the turn of the century, however, smaller teardrop styles were more popular with the high collar dress styles. Masters of the hidden message, Victorians often wove symbolism into their jewelry. Garnet and ruby colors signified high regard and were widely favored.
